I have many fond memories of Margaret and wish to share a few of them. My mother Laura Stouffer, always enjoyed the many phone calls she received from Margaret. These calls enlivened her life and she looked forward to them with anticipation. Margaret related many stories about her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was very proud of them. When I was younger I have fond memories of going to Margaret's home and sharing meals there and enjoying my time with her and Bill. I also fondly remember time spent at the family cottage where fellowship was always extended and appreciated. I admired her for all the time she put into community service, especially at the Schneider home. She had a great deal of knowledge about family history and readily shared this. This helped me immensely as I was writing my book about my family history. She was a wealth of knowledge and she loved to share this. Margaret was one of a kind and a woman of the ages in that she touched so many over the years in a positive way. I'll miss you, Ann

I just returned home from several weeks in the U.K., spent with my three grandsons, daughter and husband and picked up your email earlier today. I have been fascinated by this web site and made donations to L'Arche and to the Strathroy Women's Rural Resource Centre in her name in lieu of Lung Association, to which I will get my Mum to send a donation in memory of Margaret (since she supports them regularly). When Margaret entered the nursing home in 2009 it meant leaving her beloved house in Waterloo. She and Bill had fallen in love with it in 1970. Julie and David gave her a painting of the house as a memento, painted by a wonderful artist, Dr. Ibrahim Shalaby, who now lives in London, Ontario. After Margaret passed away, the family gave the painting to the new owners of the house, who are equally (if not more so!) in love with the house. We were amazed and thrilled to find out that they are expecting their first baby the same week Margaret passed away.

Several strong memories of Margaret - coming down the path between our cottages to catch up and chat - she had a distinctive voice, waving at us as you guys drove by on your way for ice cream, gathering around the famous green hammock when Julie first arrived.
