Obituary of Edward Oakley

Oakley, Edward "Eddy" Passed away peacefully, following a courageous battle with cancer, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the age of 67 years. Eddy is survived by his sister, Jean (Larry) Weland of Waterloo, his nephews and their families, Greg (Will Gott) Weland of Flesherton, Christopher (Shannon) Weland and their children Joshua, Caleb and Lukas of Guelph, and Jon (Dana) Weland and their son Wyleigh of Kitchener. Eddy was predeceased by his parents Barbara (nee Kropf) and Edward Oakley. Eddy was a long time employee of Kaufman Footwear and was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 530, Waterloo. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage in Point Au Baril. Friends are invited to share their memories of Eddy with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 6-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes St., Waterloo on Wednesday, September 14 at 10:30 am with Monsignor Edward Sheridan as Celebrant. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
