Obituary of John Fast

John passed away peacefully at his home in Waterloo on Sunday, September 11, 2011 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Helga for almost 61 years. Dear father of Gilbert Fast, now Fr. Thomas of Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Brookline, Mass. and Anita Alpay and husband Selen of Prince George, BC. John is survived by his youngest brother, Nikolai Fast and wife Maria of Espelkamp, Germany, sister-in-law, Helen Fast of Brampton, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of John during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, September 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to remember John will be held at W-K United Mennonite Church, 15 George St., Waterloo on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Nancy Mann officiating. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo, followed by a reception at the church.
