Obituary of Grace Frohlich

Born September 21, 1920, passed away in her 92nd year on September 26, 2011 at her residence, Bankside Terrace Retirement Home, Kitchener. Grace and her husband Ernie (1976) owned and operated Al's Speedy Delivery from 1936 and after several name changes, Al's Moving and Cartage Ltd. and finally to Al's Cartage Ltd. The businesses were operated by family members until closing in 2008. Grace is survived by two sons, Howard (Connie) Frohlich and Norman (Irene) Frohlich, five grandchildren, Christine Madill (Wayne Beausoleil), Craig Frohlich, Carrie (Bill) Karl, Roger (Shelley) Frohlich and Randy (Claudia) Frohlich and eleven great-grandchildren, Ben and Bryce Madill, Zakk, Tyler and Jason Karl, Melissa Rybicki, Natasha, Grayson, Logan, Ashton and Dylan Frohlich, and her sister-in-law Mildred Asmussen. Grace is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved and cherished. Grace was predeceased by her loving husband Ernie (1976), her parents, Edgar and Edna Asmussen, brother Howard Asmussen, sister Helen Lehmann, brother-in- law William Lehmann, in laws Edward and Melvina Froehlich, sisters and brothers-in-law, Gertrude and Wilfred Hornung, Amanda and Hugo Hein, and Martha and Henry Steltner. Grace attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kitchener. At Grace's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Mary's Hospital Cardiac Care, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, would be very much appreciated.
