Obituary of Abram Ens

Passed away, after a lengthy illness, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Susanne (nee Neufeld) for 56 years. Dear father of Alf and Marg Ens, Gerhard and Katharina Ens, Heidi and John Wiens, Hermann and Gina Ens, and Karin and Wolfgang Koehler. Opa to 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Margarethe (David) Toews, David Ens, Katharina Wiens, Henry (Helen) Ens and brother-in-law to Edith Ens and Romilda Ens. Abram is fondly remembered by Susanne's brother and five sisters and their families. Predeceased by his parents, Abram and Maria (Redekopp) Ens; brothers, Gerhard Ens and Waldemar Ens; brother-in-law, Peter Wiens; and sisters-in-law, Elfrieda Ens and Lily Ens. Abram was currently a member of St. Jacobs Mennonite Church and a former longtime member of W-K United Mennonite Church. He retired from Waterloo Furniture Components in 1996 after 30 years of service. The Ens family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, September 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to honour Abram's life and faith will be held at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, 1310 King St., St. Jacobs on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Mark Diller Harder and Pastor Kevin Derksen officiating. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. A reception will follow at the church.
