Obituary of Michael Hinzel

Michael passed away peacefully at the Village of Winston Park, Kitchener on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the age of 89. Beloved husband and life partner for 66 years of the late Sara Hinzel (nee Konyen) who predeceased him on May 31, 2011. Dear father of Reinhold Hinzel and wife Siiri of Toronto and Erwin Hinzel and wife Cheryl of Uxbridge. Opa of Kristina (Kristian), Deborah (Jarrad), Robert (Janet), Andrea (Kevin), Matthew, and Eric; and Great-Opa of Markus, Zackery, Aleksandra, Jacob, Emery, Brayden, Kyla, and Anika. Survived by his sister, Anna Hermann and husband Michael and their family of Germany, and sister-in-law, Maria Konyen of Toronto. Predeceased by his sister, Anna and brother-in-law, Michael Konyen. Michael was a longtime member of the Transylvania Club of Kitchener and Bethel Lutheran Church in Kitchener. Visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, October 2 from 2-4 p.m. only and on Monday, October 3 from 1 - 1:45 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Kitchener. A reception will follow in the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room.
