Obituary of Alvin Murray Taylor
With sadness, the family of Alvin Taylor announces his passing at the Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the age of 92.
Beloved husband of Joan (nee Krug) for 63 years. Loving father of Nancy (Taylor) Milstein, Judith Taylor (Dr. Robert Rodensky), Paul Taylor, and Keith Taylor (Ivone). Proud grandfather of Max Milstein, Amanda Milstein (Brandon Van Vaerenbergh), Melissa Taylor, Jacqueline Taylor, Ethan Rodensky, Matthew Taylor, Naomi Taylor, and Sonia Taylor. Alvin is also survived by three brothers, Ross, Edwin and Donald Taylor and three sisters, Jean Gordon, Lorraine Slotuik and Evelyn Bullock.
Predeceased by his parents, Earl Taylor and Fern Wittick; brother, Brian Taylor; and sister, Mary Ellen Burville.
A Bachelor of Commerce graduate from the University of Toronto, Alvin worked for 30 years with several investment dealer firms. In the final years of his career he worked as the Secretary/ Treasurer of three Crown corporations for the Province of Ontario. He is a WWII veteran having served in the RCAF from 1941 – 1945.
Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Alvin during a memorial visitation at Luther Village on the Park, 139 Father David Bauer Dr., Waterloo on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. and on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 10-10:45 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Luther Village with Rev. Katharine Edmonstone officiating. A reception will immediately follow at Luther Village. Private family interment at Saint George Cemetery, St. George, Ontario.
