Dear Bob and Family
I was saddened to learn of Joyce's passing--such a wonderful graceful woman.
Joyce was always so pleasant and kind--a true light to everyone.
She is in God's loving arms now and at peace---she will be truly missed but I believe that is why God gave us memories, to help us through the tough times.
I will keep you and your family in my prayers, and hope that you find comfort.
Love and all God's blessings
Dave and Wanda

Joyce always greeted me with her beautiful smile and warm hugs whenever I came to visit her and Bob. During my visits, we would play trivia games and Joyce always had more correct answers than Bob, she was quite competitive in her own quiet little way. A sweet loving lady, who always made me feel comfortable in her home. I will miss her so dearly. Our hearts goes out to Bob and the Rankin family during this sad time - Julie, Tia and Steve Inkster

Larry and I send our sincere condolences on the loss of Joyce. We always loved when we would be at the cottage or one of our office parties, someone would ask Joyce to Box the Compass. She could do it frontwards and backwards.
She was such a sweet and kind lady....

I have very fond memories of Joyce from Elizabeth Ziegler School back when I arrived in 1974. She was such a warm, caring person and loved her job. She was a great support to me as a new teacher.
Our "Old Girl's" group met a couple of times in Joyce and Bob's lovely home at the corner of King and William Streets. Joyce was such a gracious hostess and Bob was very entertaining.
We enjoyed her company a few times at Luther Village when Bob would bring her to the Thursday buffet.
Such great memories of a wonderful friend and colleague!!
My thoughts are with all of you at this difficult time.
Treasure the memories.

Back in the late 1950s, I was a senior Girl Guide and Joyce was the District Commissioner. She phoned and asked me to be a Junior Leader with the Brownie Pack, at Olivet United Church. Although I was a young teenager, I was very complimented by her faith in me to do the job. Throughout my time in this role, Joyce encouraged and supported me to be the best I could be. This resulted in my lifelong involvement in Girl Guides of Canada, as I went from being a Brownie Leader, to working with Rangers, then Guides, then Pathfinders, then Sparks. Within GGC, I also sat on the Hamilton Area Council, became Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Ontario and served on National Committees. Joyce saw potential in me and nurtured that potential. She was a master at encouraging others.
I will always remember Joyce's sense of fun, her laughter and her positive attitude. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. My deepest sympathy is extended to Joyce's family. May it not be too long before your sadness is replaced by warm memories of this very special woman.
