Obituary of Jake Friesen

Passed away peacefully at Parkwood Mennonite Home, Waterloo, on December 20, 2016, surrounded by family. Born on April 1, 1930, in Lena, Manitoba, Jake is survived by his beloved wife Anne, sons Walter (Anna), Arthur (Carolyn), and Leonard (Mary); grandchildren Angela (Mike), Anna (Paul), Miriam, Isaac (Wanda) and Laura; and great-grandchildren Abigail, Benjamin, Ella, George, Otis, Isaiah and Raphael. Jake was the oldest brother of Kay (John Millar), John (Lydia), Frank (Pat) and Abe (Elaine); and brother-in-law to George (Mary) Schmidt. Jake was a long time resident of Vineland and a proud retiree of General Motors. A memorial service will be held at Waterloo North Mennonite Church, 100 Benjamin Rd., Waterloo on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to House of Friendship (Kitchener) may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
