Melvin Moser

Obituary of Melvin Arthur Moser

We find comfort in our profound sadness knowing Pops "Opa" passed peacefully in his sleep to join his sweetheart on December 31 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Mary Wyszynski (2015), always at her side during the years of her illness. Dear father of Steve (Patricia), Ken (Colleen), Ann, Robert (Paul), Scott (Amy) and Brenda Kingsley (Kevin). Opa shared a deep pride and love for his grandchildren; creating lasting memories as they grew up. Lovingly remembered and treasured by his grandchildren Ken Jr., Andrea, Richard, Shawn, Jessica, Brandon, Dylan and great-grandchildren, Nathanial, William and Clara.

Survived by brothers, Claude, Jerome, William (Blanche), Calvin (Ilene), sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Thelma and Florence, Rose Armstrong (Greg) and Ed Wyszynski.

Predeceased by his son Frank, parents Robert Moser and Ida Dorscht, brothers Gilbert, Elmer, Howard (Melinda), Clarence (Evelyn) and Harold (Dorothy); sisters Lucy Stockie (John), Lorraine Goebel (Al), Catherine Steffler (Lloyd), Gloria Wyszynski (Joe), Helen Kreutzer (Marty); sisters-in-law Florence and Shirley.

Dad was a long-time member of St. Agatha RC Church where he found strength and never losing faith through difficult times. He worked hard to provide for our big family. With 39 years of service at Seagram's distillery, he was out to the barn after dinner to put in another day's work. He instilled a strong work ethic in all of us and was never short on words or a great story. Unbeatable on the horseshoe pit, the best homemade summer sausage and an inherent love for curating beautiful gardens. Dad never missed an opportunity to weave in a lesson on the farm, through work or play. A jovial approach to life and always the mediator. A much-loved uncle of many nieces, nephews and friends who were always welcome in our home; he was never far away when they needed someone to talk to; reminding us of his belief in "do unto others as you would want them to do to you".

Our sincere thanks all the staff at The Village of Winston Park for their loving and compassionate care for our dad.
