Rosemary Schnarr

Obituary of Rosemary Anne Schnarr

Rosemary passed away peacefully at The Village of Winston Park in Kitchener on Thursday, January 4, 2018 in her 92nd year.

Loving wife of Lloyd Joseph Schnarr for 65 years who predeceased her in July of last year.  Rosemary is survived by her loving children, Michael, Jennifer (Gordon) Reynolds, Margot (Jack) Wallace, and Patrick “Homer” (Alison) Schnarr.  Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Whitney (Cooper) Lord, Ainsley (Tristan) Schnarr, Eric Schnarr, Brittany Reynolds, Bailey Schnarr; and great-grandson Walker Lord.  Dear sister of Eleanor Bolger, Joan Jonker, Stanley Bolger, and Martin Bolger.

Predeceased by her parents, Martin and Margaret (nee Coffey) Bolger and sisters, Alma Champagne, Lorene Bolliger, and Betty Anne Bolger.

Rosemary was an exceptional loving mother and grandmother.  She exuded compassion for others, was an exceptional woman and reflected a deep faith in God.  She was a consummate volunteer, embraced diversity and was passionate about education.  She cared deeply for opportunities for children and young people.  At a tender age Rosemary was a natural leader and instrumental in developing several community organizations.   Rosemary cultivated many lifelong friendships.  loved to entertain and traveled the world with her dear husband Lloyd.

Rosemary’s enthusiastic spirit and smile was contagious.  Her kind and gentle manner as a community leader encouraged so many people to become involved in helping her build; St. Agnes RC Church in Waterloo, the Catholic Women’s League (serving as President of the St. Agnes CWL and on the Executive Council for the Diocese), the Optimist Club, and the Community Prayer Breakfast.  She volunteered with the Elizabeth Fry Society, the K-W Symphony, the Salvation Army, and the K-W Council of Churches.

Rosemary worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia until she married Lloyd.  Her training at the bank was instrumental in partnering with her husband Lloyd who led a successful business – Northern Storms and Siding.  Rosemary’s pie shop was also one of Rosemary and Lloyd’s successful ventures.

Rosemary’s family will be forever grateful for the kind care she received through the Winston Park Team and the loving grace she received from everyone.
