Obituary of William "Bill" Henry Curtis

Bill passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener at the age of 87.

Predeceased by his wife Rita (Wagler) Curtis.  He was the son of the late William and Margaret (Thompson) Curtis.

Loving father to Gerry (Gail) Curtis, William Curtis Jr., Cindy (Garnet) Riddler and Darlene (Brad) Bell.  Cherished Grandpa to Craig, Bradley, Angela, Virginia, Scott, Ashley, Brieanna and Mallory.  Special Great-Grandpa to Nathan, Ryan, Owen, Joel, Gwendolyn, Chase, Lincoln, Levi, Griffin, London, Isaiah, Xavier, Avaya, Nya, Emily, Marcus, and Graham.  Survived by brothers Winston (Barb) Curtis, Fabian (Marlene) Curtis, brother-in-law Richard Wagler, and sister-in-law Grace (Ervin) Wagler. 

Predeceased by brother Gerald, sisters Tess Burke, Corena Eckstein, Carmella Kitchen, Elaine Bieth, and granddaughter Amanda Riddler.

Dad worked in the transport industry and enjoyed many years at his cottage on Lake Cecebe in northern Ontario.

Our warmest thanks to the staff and residents at Beechwood Manor for giving Dad a wonderful home since the passing of our Mom.  We would also like to thank the staff at Freeport Hospital for their excellent care in Dad’s last days.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Dad with his family during a memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Parish Prayers will be held at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.  The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's RC Church, 240 Hemlock St. (at University Ave.), Waterloo on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. David Walter as Celebrant.  Reception to follow in the parish hall.  Interment will take place at a later date.
