Obituary of Kurt Andres
The morning of Monday January 15, 2018, Kurt Richard Andres passed away peacefully at the Village of Winston Park long term care in Kitchener with his daughter by his side, in his 82nd year. Kurt was born in Koenigsberg Germany(Prussia) in 1935 and immigrated to Canada in 1955. He originally came to Levack ON to reunite with his sister and to work in the mines as a mechanic. He later moved to Elliott Lake and then to Sudbury ON where he settled to raise a family. Kurt was an area maintenance foreman for INCO/Vale.
Kurt is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth (Jacob) Andres, his daughter Cornelia Andres-McKay (Andrew) of Kitchener. Also survived by step children Patricia (Wernhardt) Sinning (Klaus) of Germany and Robert Wernhardt (Mary) of Brighton Ontario. He will be missed by grandchildren in Germany, Mark Sinning (Julia), Maika (Sinning) Schirghofer (Kai) and great grandchildren Jannik & Max.
Kurt is pre-deceased by and his parents Richard and Emmy (Kallweit) Andres of Germany and his sister and brother-in-law Ursula (Andres) Czerwionka (Alfons) of Winnipeg.
The family will be having a private memorial service in Kitchener at a later date. Kurt has been cremated per his wishes.
