Who is this Adeline?
Adeline may not have wanted us to write an obituary where we are so honest about her heart and her actions… but we are going to do it anyways cuz we love her and she loved us. From giving up her education at grade 8 to working full time to support her family, she sacrificed her personal goals to ensure those she loved could find theirs’.
And then at 50 her husband of 20+ years died and she was left with two teenage sons wondering what she should do next? Of the many choices she faced, she chose to trust God and walk that path that challenged her heart. This led to learning a new trade in creating custom draperies (i.e. see Home and Garden magazine), starting her own business (not everyone in the church thought women should do this) while managing a household as her sons ventured into education, work and adulthood.
Many look for the love of their life, Adeline found it in her grandchildren. From walking each of them to school to caring for them when they were sick (i.e. vomit and snot included) as she adored being such powerful influence in their lives. Even when dementia became another burden to carry, her sweet spirit often shone through.
