Obituary of Donald Spencer

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Grand River Hospital on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the age of 97 years.

Beloved husband of the late Shirley Spencer, loving father of Jack (Jackie) Spencer, Phil (Mary) Spencer and Mary (George) Kraehling, grandfather of Ryan, Craig (Sarah), Ian (Brandy), Matthew and Laura and great-grandfather of Richard, Robert, Lee, William and Olivia. Also survived by his sisters and brother-in-law Veva (Park) Reilly and Dorothy Duxbury and predeceased by his sister Margaret Robertson.

Don spent his career as a Mechanical Engineer with Canadian Blower and Forge. His passions were photography, sailing, golf and playing the organ as music was an important part of his life. Don was an active member of the K-W Retired Business and Professional Men’s Club and served as President for two years. He was a longtime member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Kitchener.

Visitation will take place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 54 Queen Street North, Kitchener on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 1pm – 1:45pm. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm. A reception will immediately follow the service in the Elizabeth Room of the church.  Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo
