It has taken a bit of time for us to be able to write this as we were both shocked and gutted by the loss of Uncle Wiff.
I decided to turn on the radio and as soon as I turned it on 'Where do you go to my lovely' by Peter Sarstedt instantly came on and it got me! This was one of the songs he would sing when he used to gig around the pubs clubs and festivals in the UK where I was a roadie for him, setting up the gear for him, with his old leather jacket which I still have to this day!
From my earliest memory Wiff was an inspiration to me, and I strive to be a fun loving, joking, caring guy just like him. I have fond memories of Friday nights up the pub and "Rave ups" at His and Anne's home in Newlands Road, where I can happily say I was drunk for the first time and many more times after that!
The parties didn't stop there, Ollie and myself visited Wiff and Anne in Canada twice and had an awesome time both times Shooting, Visiting Niagra, Toronto and visiting the local bars!! It was so good to see how happy Wiff was in Canada, the life suited him perfectly! The second time we visited we got to share birthday celebrations again (Wiff being 1st May, myself being 2nd May) the fun we had will remain a happy memory for the rest of my life.
We talked when we could using the various communication apps available sending jokes, funny pictures and photo's of the guns we were buying or looking at buying, conversations about the Jay's were also a big part of the chat, the upcoming season will be a lonely one without Wiff to talk to about it!
I could type for hours about Wiff but words really won't do justice the impact he had on me and how much he meant to me, So I'll end with this:
He once said to me, "All I can do is do my best best and hope that at my funeral folks will say, That Wiff was a nice mon!"
Unfortunately I couldn't make the funeral, but I could bet all my worldly possessions that there wasn't a single person there that day that didn't think that!
Take it easy buddy!! I'll never forget you!!

So sad to hear the terrible news about Uncle Wiff, one of the nicest blokes you would ever want to meet. Words cannot begin to describe the unfairness of you being taken far too early. The life you built for you and Anne in Canada sounded ideal and it is such a shame we didn’t get a chance to see it. Our warmest sympathies go out to Aunty Anne during this awful time. I’m sure you’re up there knocking up a batch of sangria and showing ‘em all how to have a good time.
All our love Andy and Kristy.

The picture of Wiff as I always knew him, smiling, gentle and always supportive. I met him when I first started out singing in open mics and he was always someone who was open, funny and loving. I have reflected a lot since hearing the sad news of his passing on the days when he and Anne just turned up to gigs without us knowing to surprise us, Ann and Wiffs wedding and all the other times we had over the years. We sadly lost touch in more recent years but our hearts go out to Anne and the family at this difficult time.
One of the nicest people I have known in my life and will be sadly missed,

What can I say I don't even know where to begin.... Tonight I sit here and light a candle thinking of what to write minutes turn to hours not even knowing what to say cause words will not even come close to how much you will be missed. You have left a massive hole... you started your adventure with auntie Anne to Canada now you start your own adventure to heaven I'm sure grandma is already giving you grief for leaving her daughter behind but I know one day but not to soon you will meet again! I will always remember you for your biggest smile and kindest heart that I will ever know!
Love you to the stars
Your niece Leanne xxxxxxx

From a punk to a hunk
Gigging and singing
From the Spanish Maine
To singing in the English rain
Now that's entertainment
Then finally came the engagement
A wedding a welding of a lovely couple
We all drank more than a couple.
Canada was calling
We were applauding this brave man
To find happiness wherever he can.
What a fabulous man and my wonderful auntie anne
What a truly wonderful couple
so let's raise a glass to my uncle.

I am heartbroken about my Uncle Wiff leaving us far to early, he was such a interesting decent bloke who I have shared many of my young child memories with, from singing 'Wild Things.. I think I love you' down Harry Hedgehogs (The Swann) in Grendon to building my first dens up the common in Baddesley. These memories I will never forget and in my deepest condolences I am truly gutted I will never get the chance for you to show me the Canadian dream that you and Auntie Anne fell in love with.
Always in my thoughts Uncle Wiff sending all my love from England, I will miss you dearly
Your Nephew Daniel
