Obituary of Arthur Paul Rudy
Passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Sunnyside LTC, Kitchener at the age of 99.
Devoted and loving husband of the late Helen Rudy (nee Mank).
Dear father of Paul (Daphne) Rudy and Shelley (Stephen) Holmes. He will be fondly remembered by his granddaughters Phoenix (Alasdair, Ellen) and Amy.
Predeceased by his parents Clarence and Ada (nee Snyder) Rudy, sisters Anna (Homer) Burkhart, Margaret (Melvin) Bearinger, Lucile (Jesse) Markle, and brothers Howard (Irma) Rudy and Wilfrid Rudy.
Arthur was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. Arthur’s calling was building. He worked as a carpenter, then project manager for Witmer Construction, Karley & Kroetsch and Traugott Construction. He left his mark in Waterloo Region managing the construction of many churches and schools, as well as buildings at both University of Waterloo and Wilfred Laurier University campuses. In retirement, he continued his love of woodworking, building unique furniture for family and friends.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Arthur with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 2 – 4 p.m. & 6 – 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, 306 Erb St. W, Waterloo on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo following the reception
