Obituary of Cletus Robert Reidel

Cletus Reidel passed away peacefully in his 93rd year at St. Mary’s General Hospital on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. Loving husband of Joyce (nee Dubrick) for 69 years.

Dear father of Peggy (Dan) Dietrich, Thomas (Marion) Reidel, Wayne (Linda) Reidel, Louis (Linda) Reidel, Susan (Geoff) Bell. Remembered by grandchildren Laurie, Lindy, Craig, Kristen, Kate, John, Matthew, Scott, Stephanie, Rachel and Emily, as well as great-grandchildren Gillian, Nathan, Logan, William, Alison and Cole. Also survived by brother-in-law Ron (Ruth) Dubrick.

Predeceased by his parents Eugene and Elizabeth (Boppre) Reidel, as well as siblings Florence (Walter) Hinschberger, Jerome (Jesse) Reidel, Joseph (Betty) Reidel, Vincent (Laurine) Reidel, Edgar (Ruth) Reidel, Gerald (Ruth) Reidel, Bertilla (Charles) Keller, Dorothy (Albert) Farwell, Raymond (Kay) Reidel, Michael (Pat) Reidel, and Genevieve (Frank) Modrowski.

Cletus was a founding member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish; owner of Reidel Floorcraft (tiled the pool at WLU); former president of the Waterloo Siskins and former executive member of the Waterloo Chym'rs; a volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes and a member of the senior's social card club at the church.

Friends and relatives are invited to share their memories of Cletus with his family during visitation on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo. Parish Prayers Friday evening at 8:45 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church 173 Lourdes St., Waterloo. Rev. Rafal Tomon as Celebrant. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
