Obituary of Howard Edward Parliament
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener at the age of 86.
Loving husband of Marjorie Rosekat. Predeceased by his first wife Ilda Parliament (2001). Beloved father of Jeffrey (Ruth) Parliament and Jane (Richard) Flanagan both of Waterloo. Dear step-father of Laura Rosekat, Sandra Rosekat (Steve Jones) of Toronto and Jeff Rosekat (Elisa) of Vaughan. Cherished grandfather of Adam (Nicole), Hannah, Jessica (Tom), Christopher, Liam, Devon, Spencer, Matthew, Lucas and Nicolas.
Born in Wellington, ON on June 1, 1931. Retired from the Waterloo County Board of Education in 1987 as a Superintendent of Schools. Howard was a member of Lincoln Road Chapel. He volunteered for Meals On Wheels, delivering meals for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Kiwanis/Probus Club of Kitchener for many years.
A special thank you to the staff at Grand River Hospital and Freeport for their loving care and compassion of Howard during his final few months.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Howard with his family during memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Howard’s Life will be held at Lincoln Road Chapel, 145 Lincoln Rd., Waterloo on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1 p.m. Reception to follow in the church hall.
