Obituary of Doris "Dottie" Elizabeth Knechtel
Dottie was called home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 26, 2018 from Lanark Heights Long Term Care, Kitchener. She was born in Akron, New York on March 1, 1929
Lovingly remembered by her children Sharon Gingerich (Steve) of Baden Ont., Paul Knechtel (Debi) of Kitchener Ont., Maebelle Knechtel Bell (Russ) of West Kelowna B.C. Cherished grandmother of Charlene (Jana), Christina (Ken), Susie (Scott), Stephanie (Joel), Rob, Rick, Shannon (Matt), Sheena (Derek). Beloved great-grandmother of Ayden, Ella, Cranson, Nikki, Kate, Cohen and Quinton. Loved sister of Edna Ruth Kipfer of Clarence Center, N.Y., brother Kenneth (Lois) of Meadville PA, brother-in-law Floyd Wright of Windsor Ont. and sister-in-law Martha Huber (John) of Kitchener Ont. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Predeceased by her former husband Cranson Knechtel, parents David and Emma Yoder, siblings Maynard Yoder (Blanche), Carrie Burkholder (Elmer), Edith Ulrich (Vernon), Waneda Wright and brother-in-law Moses Kipfer.
Her family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to each and every staff member at Lanark Heights for providing Dottie (aka. Snuffleupagus or Nosey Nellie) with more than 10 years of professional, compassionate and loving care
Cremation has taken place.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Doris with her family during a memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Memorial service will be held at Erb Street Mennonite Church, 131 Erb St. W., Waterloo on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 2 p.m. Reception to follow in the church hall. A private family interment will take place.
