Obituary of Martin Joseph Bolger
Martin passed away at the Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the age of 87.
A wonderful father to Shelley, Jeff, and Susan; Grandpa of Jackson and Samuel Doner; and brother of Eleanor Bolger, Joan Jonker, and Stanley Bolger.
Predeceased by his parents, Martin and Margaret (nee Coffee) Bolger and sisters, Alma Champagne, Lorene Bolliger, Betty Anne Bolger, and Rosemary Schnarr.
Martin was a Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Korean Veterans Association Heritage Unit 13. As a machinist at Electrohome (Kitchener), Martin developed and implemented significant improvements to systems and processes, and received several awards.
In retirement, Martin attended university on a part-time basis, enjoyed travelling, kept current on political issues, was an avid walker, reader, gardener and attended yoga classes.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 12 – 12:45 p.m., followed by the funeral service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m.
