Obituary of Eleanor O'Brien

Eleanor passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, with family by her side, at St. Mary’s General Hospital on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the age of 72.

Loving wife of Tom O’Brien for 43 years.  Proud and devoted mother of Kerry O’Brien and his wife Krista and Kevin O’Brien and his wife Stephanie.  Cherished Nana to Desmond, Blake, Scarlett, and Molly.  Eleanor will be fondly remembered by her mother-in-law, Frances O’Brien.

Predeceased by her parents, Walter and Florence (nee Young) Miller and brothers Walter and Alan Miller.

Eleanor was an elementary school teacher who took great pride in teaching choirs.  She had a wonderful sense of humour and was very proud of her sons.  Family was extremely important to Eleanor; after becoming a stay-at-home mom, nothing pleased her more than a sunny day spent in the family home. There she could be found making meals from scratch, chatting with friends, reading a book, or doing a crossword puzzle, usually with a cat by her side.

Eleanor’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  A memorial service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
