Obituary of Eleanor Annabelle Appleby

APPLEBY, Eleanor (nee Sosnoski)

Passed away peacefully at Twin Oaks of Maryhill Nursing Home at the age of 94 on March 9, 2018. Beloved wife of the late William Appleby Sr. (September 17, 1999) who are together once again.

Loving mother of William (Bill) Appleby Jr., (Patricia), Robert Appleby and Judy Dowhaniuk (nee Appleby) (Paul). Much loved grandma to Kyle (Janet), Kevin (Diane), Katherine (David), Jessica (James), Samantha (Ryan), Jordan (Angela), Aaron (Madi), Ava, Briton (Ryan) and Davis (Cailey). Great-grandma to Brooklynne, Dayton, Aya, Arielle, Zo, Meko, Aden, Austen and Meyer.   

Dear sister of Maxine Geisel, Lorraine Suska (Jerry), Carolyn Kroetsch (Lorne), Larry Sosnoski (Darlene).    

Predeceased by her parents Henry and Lillian Sosnoski, sisters Delores Sosnoski, Clarine Schenk, Geraldine Scherman and brothers Roger Sosnoski, Jack Sosnoski (Bev). She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. She was active for many years in the Waterloo Legion alongside her husband Bill.

Cremation has taken place.  Eleanor’s family will receive family, relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo. A Celebration of Life will take place in the funeral home chapel at 4 p.m. on March 14, 2018 where family, relatives and friends may share their memories of Eleanor. Reception will follow in the Fireside Room of the funeral home.   

Our family wishes to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to Doctor D. Winfield and the staff and nurses at the nursing home of Twin Oaks of Maryhill for their loving and compassionate care of our mother over the past few years and especially her last few months and days. Thank you as well for the kind and loving support given to all of our family members that came to visit her during the last few months.
