Obituary of Robert "Bob" Douglas Alexander

Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Bob passed away at Innisfree House on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the age of 76.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Jane (nee Ewart) in 2011.  Bob is survived by his loving daughters Lynn Carty and husband Pat, and Lisa Lauckner and husband Bruce.  Bob will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Alex, Adam and Ryan Carty, and Ben and Emma Lauckner.  Survived by his brother David Alexander and wife Norma and brother-in-law Bob Ewart and wife Brenda.

Predeceased by his parents Douglas and Hazel (nee McConnell) Alexander.

Bob taught mathematics in five Toronto high schools and mathematics education at the University of Toronto.  Bob also worked as a mathematics consultant for the Toronto Board of Education and wrote mathematics textbooks.  In retirement, Bob became an avid researcher of our family ancestry.  Most of all, Bob was a devoted father and proud grandfather who will be greatly missed at soccer games, gymnastics practices, family dinners and time together at the cottage.

Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Bob during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 7-9 p.m.  A private family interment will be held at the Chesley Cemetery at a later date.
