Jane was wonderful and I was very lucky to have her as a friend. She always made time for people and animals who needed a safe haven, encouragement, or a shoulder to cry on. Charlotte, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I only met her a handful of times, but I remember her being so cool about your enormous dog - and I wished I had a mother like that. I was also sorry to see that it was cancer. My mother had breast cancer 2 years ago, and is still not out of the woods, and a cousin recently discovered that her cancer has returned and is terminal, and I know how difficult it is to watch someone you love so much going through so much pain. It's so difficult to write these notes, because I'm aware that words can't really do a whole lot at a time like this. But I wanted you to know that I was sorry to hear about your mother, and that I'm thinking of you. Sarah
