Obituary of Lee Parent
Lee passed away unexpectedly in his Waterloo home on Saturday, May 12, 2018.
Lee was born in Kapuskasing on December 8, 1963 to Reginald and Laura Parent of Waterloo. He is survived by his sons Andrew, Mark and Jeffrey and his siblings, Craig Parent (Maribeth) of Dundas and Scott Parent (Michelle) of Kingston. He will be dearly missed by his aunt and uncle June and Chuck Wallsten of Fergus.
Lee earned a B.B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1986 and an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto in 1988 before embarking on a 29-year career in financial services with the Region of Waterloo. His numerous community service roles included volunteer positions with the Kitchener-Waterloo Optimist Club, the Fort Conestoga Garrison of the 78th Fraser Highlanders and the Regimental Council of the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada and the Royal Canadian Air cadets, from which he earned his glider pilot license.
Lee was a kind and gentle man who was devoted to his family, friends and community. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Lee’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home’s Fireside Room.
