Obituary of Dora Lamers

With loved ones by her side, Dora passed away peacefully on Saturday May 19, 2018.  She and her husband Gerry were married for 62 years.  They enjoyed a loving and wonderful life together, filled with family, faith and community.

Dora will be deeply missed by her brothers Ted (Anne), Bill (Netty), and Tony (Sue) and her sister Toni and sister-in-law Diane.  In heaven, she will reunite with her mother, father, brother John, and brother-in-law Albert.  Here on earth, she will continue to be loved in the hearts of her nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, and many, many friends.

Dora’s volunteer work brought her endless happiness.  She was active for over 20 years at St. Francis of Assisi Church and St. Mary’s General Hospital.

She faced her cancer journey with great courage and faith. There were so many that helped along the way and special thanks go to: Dr. Johansen, the staff and volunteers at Grand River Cancer Center, the staff and volunteers at Lisaard House, and their neighbours, Mike and Mary. Your kindness, caring and support was precious and appreciated more than you know.

The Funeral Mass will be held for Dora on Saturday May 26th, 2018 at 11 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 49 Blueridge Ave, Kitchener, Ontario. There will be a time for final respects between 10 - 10:45 in the foyer of the church.  A luncheon will follow the Mass. Please join the family to celebrate the life of Dora Lamers.
