Obituary of Susa Lilian Pyatt

SUSA LILIAN (SUE) PYATT, aged 74, of Kitchener, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Kitchener, Ontario.

Sue was born in Toronto on March 30, 1944 and was the oldest of Lyn and Jim Fitzpatrick’s three children.   She attended high school at Lawrence Park Collegiate in North Toronto, went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from Glendon College, York University in 1965, and received her teaching accreditation in the following year.  Sue began her teaching career in Toronto but spent the majority of her working life with the Waterloo Region District School Board, where she dedicated her focus and passion to special education. Sue enjoyed volunteering for the local chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society and was a long-time member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.  She also enjoyed attending plays and concerts and was able to visit the Stratford Festival several times in the past month with a very close friend.

Sue is survived by her two daughters, Stacey [Mark, Ryan and Griffin] and Betsey [Andrew, Quinn and Owen], both of the Greater Toronto Area.  She is also dearly missed by her sister Lee [Bryan, Sean and Christina] and her brother Terry [Ruth].

A memorial service will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joanne Peppler officiating. Reception to follow in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Sue’s beloved Haliburton County at a later date.
