Obituary of Vincent William Morrison

Vince passed away at his home with family by his side on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.

Loving husband of Phonsine (Meagher) for over 56 years.  Cherished and ever proud of their two children, son, Anthony (Tony) Morrison and his wife Jill Johnston and their children Madelyn, Cooper and Beatrice Morrison; and daughter, Bernadette Morrison (Bernie) and her husband Jim Birkholz and their daughter Julia Marie Birkholz.

Vince was born on the family farm near Kingsbridge ON in Ashfield Township into a good Irish Catholic family.  At age four, Vince’s family moved to a farm near Dublin ON in Hibbert Township. He was educated at Dublin Separate and Dublin Continuation.

Vince was predeceased by his parents, James Morrison in 1965 and Marie Morrison (Sullivan) in 1993, his first wife, Mary Ronnenberg in December, 1960, his brothers, Joseph, John, and Jim Morrison.  He is survived by his sister Mary Friedmann and sister-in-law Marian Stock as well as in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Vince worked for over 40 years in the Life Insurance Industry as an Accountant C.P.A., C.M.A., first at Dominion Life where he obtained his Insurance Degree F.L.M.I. and following the merger with Manulife Financial worked there until retiring on April 15, 1992 as a taxation officer.

In retirement, Vince became a volunteer driver for City of Waterloo Home Support Services.  Vince was a Charter Member of Waterloo Council of Knights of Columbus No. 5135 and a fourth-degree faithful member of Kitchener Assembly No. 366.  He was a member of the K-W Serra Club.  Vince was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Waterloo.  He was a member of their St. Vincent de Paul Conference and Right to Life of K-W and area.  Vince enjoyed life. Both his employment and retirement brought him many good and faithful friends, but most importantly, making memories with his family.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at the funeral home at 8:45 p.m.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church, 173 Lourdes St., Waterloo on Saturday, June 30 at 10:00 am.  Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.  All are invited back to join the family for lunch at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Hall.

Reception

Immediately following the interment, a reception will be held in the Parish Hall of Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church.
