Just received the sad news today that I will no longer be able to see Trudie greeting our patients with a smile and a caring word of encouragement. I was always happy to see Trudie in the OR, interacting with her, having a laugh, and getting a great hug! She will be missed by myself, and also by the staff in the OR and PACU at Grand River Hospital.

I have worked in the Operating Room at GRH for many years. Trudie was a dedicated volunteer who I have had the pleasure of working with for years. Her friendly, happy disposition will be missed by the staff of the Operating room & Recovery Room (PACU). Her caring nature was evident as she spoke with patients and comforted them prior to their surgery.
My sincerest sympathies to her family as they have lost a special lady!

My sincere condolences. Trudie was a dedicated and long service volunteer at Grand River Hospital where I have known her for more than 20 years. During her illness I visited with her several times before she was transferred. I tried calling to get an update but couldn’t reach anyone. Then I searched today and saw her obituary. Sorry I missed coming to the memorial today. She was a lovely and caring person and will be missed in the OR/Recovery area she volunteered in.

To Trudie’s family,
I was Trudie’s minister at Parkminster for three years, ending in September, 2017. Over those years, I benefitted from Trudie’s kindness, loyalty, and support. In her gracious way, she gave of herself . She had many friends at Parkminster whom she encouraged. She helped out in an unassuming way, in a loving way. I know you will miss her.
Trudie had a clear faith that made her pretty courageous and very hopeful. She believed that love was stronger than death, and I know that her death will not stop the love she had for you.
I will hold your family in the light. I really loved and appreciated your mom.
