Obituary of Dorothy Swainston
Passed away peacefully at Lisaard House after a short battle with cancer in her 87th year, November 11, 2018.
Dorothy will be greatly missed by her children Lyn (nee McLaren) and husband Glenn Blanchette, David McLaren and wife Janice, Scott McLaren and wife Robin, Rosemary (nee McLaren) and husband Scott Kowall, Alfrieda (Freddie) Swainston. Peter John and Peggy Swainston, sisters Edna Cayton and Marcia Raspberry. Loving Grandmother of Jennifer and David Heuchert, Renee and Kris Lesperance, Amanda McLaren and Max LeBlanc, Megan and Graeme Jamieson, Scott McLaren Jr., Lisa Swainston, Grant Swainston, Trevor Thompson and Nicole Thompson. Cherished Great-Grandmother of Ella Blanchette, Roselyn and Jane Heuchert, Van Lesperance. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews and her second family, The Coffee Club Gang.
Predeceased by loving husband Leonard Swainston and first husband William McLaren. Brother Arthur Parry. Parents Edna and Arthur Parry and sister-in-law Margaret Parry.
Cremation has taken place as per Dorothy’s request.
A Memorial service has been held.

Special thanks to oncologist Dr. Califaretti for being so compassionate with Dorothy at such a difficult time. A special thanks as well to all of the staff at Lisaard House for the excellent care and compassion provided for Dorothy at the end of her life journey. A special thank you to Elizabeth at Lisaard House for taking Mom down memory lane to her days of youth in Manchester, England.
