Obituary of Frank Edward Kohli

Frank Edward Kohli

Born January 10, 1938 – died suddenly November 19, 2018 at Grand River Hospital surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband and best friend of Marjorie Kohli. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Ann Kohli; son Mark Andrew Kohli, wife Heather; granddaughter Madison Victoria Kohli; brother John Kohli, wife Jean; sister Joyce Ward, husband Jack and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was the son of the late Edward Kohli and Violet Evelyn Keffer. He was raised in Hespeler, ON and attended Galt Collegiate. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and during his stay in Winnipeg, MB met his wife, Marjorie Edwards. They were married on December 15, 1962 in Summerside, PEI while Frank was stationed there.

After leaving the RCAF Frank worked for Canada Health Assurance and then trained as a welder fitter. He worked for Belgium Standard Industries and Clare Weber Fabricating. He retired in 2000 and enjoyed traveling to many places over the years. He especially enjoyed six weeks living in an English cottage and a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower. He loved his stays in Charleston and Williamsburg with his wife and daughter in the spring and fall and he could get in a few more rounds of golf.

Frank was an avid golfer and was a member of the Rockway Senior Men’s League. He was very proud of his hole-in-one. He also enjoyed playing Bridge. In his younger days he won car rally trophies as well as awards for ice dices and other car events. Frank built several race cars with his son Mark and they competed together in auto slaloms, autocrosses and ice races.

Frank was also very proud and close to his family including his granddaughter Madison who is now a teacher. He enjoyed nothing more than a family get together where stories, pictures and laughs were shared.
