Obituary of Beryl Kathleen Gatzke
Passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of Freeport Hospital at the age of 75.
Loving wife of Rudy Gatzke for 50 years. Mother of Allen (Sheryl) and their children Ian and Eric, and Lynne (Kevin) Parsons and their children Avery and Skye. A truly proud grandma !
Predeceased by her parents Harold and Kathleen Rowland.
Beryl was active at the Waterloo Tennis Club earlier in her life. She worked at both K-W and St. Mary's Hospitals for decades as a physiotherapist treating and caring for young and old. She was a dedicated volunteer with the Adult Recreation Centre, Waterloo for over 20 years. Beryl was passionate about playing Mahjong with her local and Florida friends.
Beryl led an active and rich life, a true world traveller, despite her decades long battle with Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM). She always had a smile despite the challenge of portable oxygen tanks.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Beryl with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sun. Dec. 9, 2018 from 1 to 4 pm.
A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Mon Dec 10, 2018 at 11 am. Rev. Ron Pakulat officiating, reception to follow in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Interment Mount Hope Waterloo.
