Obituary of Saveah Naomi Carrington
May 15, 2018 Saveah Naomi Carrington was born. She was a very special case, surrounded by 30 surgeons who were very skeptical about her surviving that day. She fought through and did not require the major surgery they suspected. She required and only underwent a minor procedure and observation. She spent the next 2 months in hospital overcoming obstacle after obstacle and fighting every step of the way.
Saveah was released From Sick Kids June 11th to Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, and finally sent home on June 28th with her very happy parents. It was so freeing to hold Saveah not attached to any more wires or tubes. We continued her care at home; teaching her about the world around her, weaning her off one medication after another. Such a little fighter, Saveah was always beating expectations.
Saveah always smiled for Rory when he came home. She'd often refused to go down until he came in the door. After the doctor called time of death even, Rory walked in the room and said: "Daddy's home" and her heart beat one more time. When Jessica held her for the last time she said "Mommy's got you" and she gave up her spirit with one last breath. Our little fighter, fighting tooth and nail till the very end.
