Hannigan, Audrey (née Saugstad) died peacefully on December 17 in Waterloo at the age of 94, a month short of her 70th wedding anniversary. She is survived by her husband, Norman Hannigan; her children Randy (Sylvia), John (Janice), Greg, and Jim (Laura and her daughter Nicole); her grandchildren Jason (Jill McCartney), Vanessa (Kyle Hanson), Michelle (Calen Gauley), Felicity; and great grandchildren Alex, Ryan, James, Benjamin, Merrek and Scarlett. Predeceased by her sisters Marie and Margaret. After graduating as a Registered Nurse from the Victoria Hospital School of Nursing, London in 1946 she worked over the next 38 years at the New York Post-Graduate Medical School, Toronto General, and hospitals in Kitchener-Waterloo and Sault Ste. Marie. In addition to the care and nurturing of her family, Audrey led an active life as a committed volunteer in numerous organizations (including many years in the IODE) and as a skier, curler and golfer. She loved to sing, whether in the church choir or operettas, play the piano and paint. Family camping trips plus many happy years at the cottage on Ranger Lake in northern Ontario attested to her love of the outdoors. Nature was her muse for painting. She and Norm enjoyed travelling, mainly to Europe and the Caribbean. She will be missed by her family, especially by Norm. The family extends their appreciation to the caring staff at Lanark Heights long-term care home over the last year of her life. Family and friends may pay respects at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday December 22, 2018 from 12-1 p.m., to be followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 1 p.m..
