Obituary of Carly Nicole Gingerich

It is with broken hearts that the family of Carly Gingerich announce her passing in the early morning hours of December 31, 2018 at Innisfree House in Kitchener.

Carly will forever be remembered by her twin sister Allie, older sister Katie, parents Karen Edmonds and Larry Gingerich, and countless family and friends.

Though she knew that her time was near, her bravery, courage and strength never wavered.  During Carly’s last weeks, she used her energy to comfort and support all those around her.

Despite her medical struggles, Carly did not stop living.  She never viewed her differences as a burden or something that needed to be fixed.  She was determined to share the importance of accepting, accommodating and listening to those who are differently abled. 

Carly's sense of humour and love for her family, friends, and rescue dog Lydia meant everything to her. She expressed her creativity through her love of makeup, personal style and documenting life through photos.  Her passion for the environment was shown through her education in Packaging Sciences at Mohawk College, and her commitment to sustainable living including vegetarianism and second-hand shopping with her twin sister. 

Friends and loved ones are invited to share their memories of Carly with her family during a memorial visitation on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo.  A memorial service in celebration of Carly will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.  Reception to follow.
