Susan invited me to her beautiful lake house, where Philip and I had the chance to hang out with her family. We had a blast- my favorite part was watching Susan play the role of hostess, mother, grandmother, and friend all at the same time. She found so much joy in helping the kids catch caterpillars (which later became butterflies!) while also making sure everyone’s glass was full. She made sure to remind me of how welcome I was the entire time. I will always carry with me Susan’s warm smile and kind heart.

Susan was a high school friend. She was such a wonderful warm and loving person. She was also so much fun and she looked for the best in all of us. I often wondered how she was doing and then a few years ago she came to a high school reunion that I attended. It was so nice to see her. She treasured all the people in her life and lived with zest. Dear family of Susan, dear Axel!
We are deeply saddened by the passing away of Susan.
We had the chance to get to know her through Axel, a dear member of our Club.
Susan was such a joyful person, being very open minded and interested in other people ́s views.
She always showed a radiant smile and had a great sense of family, which she showed talking compassionately about her family in Canada.
Most striking about her was her always positive view on life.
When she was in Germany she showed great interest in German history and politics but especially in culture. And as we can see in some pictures on the condolence-website she also liked the Oktoberfest!
She was a gift to so many people and especially to Axel. We will miss her and are thankful for having had the opportunity to getting to know her.

Sincere condolences on the death of your wife, mother, grandmother, sister,aunt,friend. Sue was many things to many people. I remember her beautiful soul that radiated to everyone she met. How could you not smile when in her presence. I cherished the time I knew her while at St Johns. She was supportive and caring and honest. After my third child was born I met her at a mall and when she asked how things were going she said ”it’s a nightmare!” She put into words the emotions I’d been feeling but afraid to say out loud. I watched her parent and raise three beautiful daughters and … my nightmares turned into dreams. Those three children are now grown adults with babes of their own. I thank God for the gift of Sue. May memories you share warm your hearts during this difficult time.
Dave rides in the Ride To Conquer Cancer for Princess Margaret hospital in June this year. He’ll be riding and thinking of Sue this year.

I knew Susan when she worked at KWHabilitation. She had patience and kindness and great knowledge. Susan had a significant impact on all the children she worked with and their families. Susan and I reconnected over the last year when she was in town. Although I never met her girls, I know how important they were to her and how much she loved them and her grandchildren.
