He was always a beacon of joy and peace for those who knew him, professionally and personally. He was a 'rock' in St. Louis Parish, supporting its programs and activities, giving an example of devotion and service to all. He was a great friend of the Resurrectionists, and showed great personal attention to our members, in particular those who served in St. Louis Parish. Mel and I have been honoured to be colleagues of Jack's since our arrival in KW in 1977. Jack has acted as a role model for us both personally and professionally. He has also been a wonderful mentor as both of us did Obstetrics in our first years and Mel until 2018. We have been encouraged to see Jack and Mary integrate their faith into their work, their social network and their community activities. It was my special privilege to be invited to assist in Jack's last chapter. It is my hope that our palliative care team has been able to provide some reassurance and hope during these last few weeks. Mel and I pray that Mary and the family will find peace and comfort in their wonderful shared memories.
