Our Matriarch has her golden wings. Yes, a fantastic human being we nick-named “Mother Goose”, has gone to her heavenly home. We shall miss this vigorous woman who embraced life and especially the capacity she possessed to love all those challenged, all those different, all those “square pegs in round holes”. Mother Goose, aka Betty, was the first of her siblings to immigrate to Canada from Dublin Ireland. She welcomed her siblings into their new home in Canada and kept them secure, wrapped them in understanding, enveloped them under her protective wings. That was her nature ....to protect. She faced her life challenges (of which there were a few) with grace, dignity and threw herself full force to champion for her son with Downs Syndrome and for others. There was no better advocate than our Mother Goose. Never, did you guess where you stood with Betty....I loved that about her. She was a remarkable strong woman; smart, a terrific listener, a wonderful mother, sister, auntie and she was my sister-in-law Betty Anne, Mother Goose to all. Rest In Peace Mother Goose. We shall all fiercely miss you.

I was so saddened to see the announcement of Anne's death. What a lovely kind lady she was! I had the pleasure and honour of helping her plan most of her trips over the last 20 years. She loved to travel and she was a delight to work with. I heard so many stories about her family and the love she had for all of you. My deepest condolences and rest in peace sweet lady.

It's with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to Betty. Although we met in Sherbrooke several years ago, and both of us moved to various locations, we managed to keep in touch over the years. Betty was so easy to have as a friend, even if months passed between visits and phone calls. We always just "picked up" our conversations where we left off. Both of us had major changes in our lives....and she was always there to give encouragement, but most of all to be an example of a strong, fiercely loyal mother and wife. I will miss her so much, but am so glad to have known her. RIP friend.
