Obituary of Ronald Sydney Hustwitt

After a lengthy battle with dementia, Ron passed away peacefully, with family by his side, at Parkwood Mennonite Home in Waterloo on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the age of 69.  He was a kind soul who greeted each day with optimism, energy and a warm smile. Sincere thanks to the family at Parkwood Mennonite Home.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Nora Hustwitt; daughter Sarah Whaley (Buck); son Adam (Dianne); grandchildren Indigo, Jack and Ava Whaley, Ella, Lily, and Quinn Hustwitt; mother-in-law Tina Deveth; brother Bob (Pauline), brother-in-law Jon, and his nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Bud and Molly Hustwitt and father-in-law Tony Deveth.

Ron was an educator with the Waterloo Region District School Board for 34 years. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren in the backyard pool and additional activities such as golf, curling and PROBUS.

Ron’s family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., followed by a memorial service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 12 noon.  Reception to follow at the funeral home.
