Obituary of Merl Koegler

The family of Merl Koegler is saddened to announce her passing on Saturday February 9, 2019 at Trinity Long Term Care Centre in Kitchener at the age of 92.

She will be truly missed by her husband and soulmate, John, whom she loved deeply for over 70 years. Merl was the caring mother of Doug Koegler (Debbie) and Sharon Kirsopp (Sandy); the devoted grandmother of Joanne Roberts (Mike), Stephanie Schurr (Ryan) and Alex Kirsopp; and the proud great-grandmother of Allison Roberts and Isaac Roberts. She is survived by her brother Leon Betzner (Ann).

Friends are invited to share their memories of Merl with her family during memorial visitation at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 10 until 10:45 a.m., followed by the memorial service in the chapel of the funeral home at 11 a.m. A reception will follow the service.

The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Trinity Village for their compassion, kindness and understanding. Thanks also to Carol Van Dyke, a special long-time friend whose visits were always a high point in Merl’s life.
