Millie Kraft

Obituary of Millie Kraft

Kraft, Mildred

God, in His merciful love, took His daughter, Mildred (Millie) May Kraft, nee Schneider, home to Heaven on Monday, 04 March 2019, at the age of 90 years, minus two months.  She was born April 21, 1929.

Beloved wife and best friend to Donald Allen Kraft, for 68 years; dearly cherished mother to John Kraft (his wife Connie), Gail Kraft, Gary Kraft and David Kraft; loving grandmother to Hayley Broughton, Ryan Kraft (wife Melanie), Brennan Kraft Hardy (husband Dave), Sarah Kraft (Kevin Galloway), Daniel Kraft (wife Paige) and Adam Kraft; and loving great-grandmother to Landon, Amelia (Millie), Tessa, Bennett, Colton and Luke and her soon-to-be-born 7th great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Howard Schneider (wife Cathy) and was predeceased by her parents Edward and Emma (Rueffer) Schneider and her sister Elizabeth (Betty).

Millie's steadfast faith in her Lord, loving and generous spirit, and talent to make everyone around her feel special and loved, will be forever remembered by all who knew her.  She touched so many lives throughout the years and we have all been blessed by that.

The family wishes to extend their heart-felt thanks to the staff at the Luther Village Sunshine Centre for the kindness, exceptional care and kind treatment they have shown Millie, over the years. Everyone loved her and treated her like she was their own Grammie and she loved you all.

In her final days, at St. Mary's Hospital, she was taken care of by the most wonderful group of nurses and doctors God could have blessed her with.  She was given such caring and compassionate treatment, as were the family.  Special thanks to Dr. Bridget Campbell, who went beyond the call of duty by, not only keeping the family members up-to-date on Millie's condition, but by performing the impossible feat of having Don transferred from Grand River Hospital to St. Mary's Hospital so he could spend the last days by his beautiful wife's side, in the same room.  Also, nurse Sara Button, whose caring and understanding made this very sad experience much easier on all of us, and nurse Rebecca Elliot, who made Don laugh and took such great care of him that he stayed comfortable and relaxed during this very difficult time.

Loved ones and friends are invited to attend the visitation and to share their memories of Millie, with her family at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday, March 08, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 322 East Avenue, Kitchener on Saturday, March 09, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Roland Syens officiating, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.  Interment to follow in Woodland Cemetery, Weber St., Kitchener.
