Sadly, we're are out of the country so I can't pay respects to this wonderful old neighbor. Have such wonderful memories of the winter skating rink, with boards and lights, where we could play hockey or just skate for hours on end. Many of us had the duty of shoveling it off after it snowed and most fathers helped water the rink after the lights were turned off for the night. I believe Ron also arranged street parties, where the crescent was closed to traffic and families brought chairs and treats and sat on the road playing games and enjoying a large barbeque get-together. We had a wonderful neighbourhood and enjoy great memories. Ron will be missed.

I have such wonderful memories of Ron from when I was a youngster. Ron would build a rink for us on the city property behind his MacKay Crescent property. It was the best outdoor hockey rink around with lights and official size hockey nets. He and his son Paul worked tirelessly on it to ensure we always had good ice. Ron also was a major organizer of the Crescent 1967 Centennial street party. While I was only seven years old I recall what a great time we had. Ron would also drive me to basketball for those early morning practices which was always appreciated. He also had a fish pond in the backyard and an awesome acquarium in the house, something I tried to emulate but with little success. Ron was a remarkable man and will be missed by those that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Glady, Paul, Jeff and families I am so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I know it was a rough road the last bit and he will be missed by many. I pray that God wraps his arms around you as you travel this journey. Look forward to seeing you again Ron.
