Dear Susan and Ian, Rick and Pat, Chris and Tanya, Terry and Monica and all your/our loved ones,
I am with you with big hugs and tears . . . remembering with great gratitude how loving, creative and gently present Aunt Rita always was. At one point, she was a little surprised when I said that our family seems so creative and resourceful in many, many different ways. Enjoying the thought, she simply asked, "Do you think so?" Yes, for sure . . . and Aunt Rita was one who showed us a healthy way to live and relate. Since their family was so big, she was like an older sister for us.
Of course, I learned more about Aunt Rita as I read her well-written obituary. Multi-talented, committed to serve and generous . . . as well as able to relax and enjoy family, friends, friends, colleagues.
It is very touching for me to see that you included Notre Dame Missions along with St. Mary's Hospital and Innisfree Hospice as a way to remember Aunt Rita! A special thank-you to all who may give to Notre Dame . . . Know that I/we in South Sudan benefit directly from your generosity. Just today, I met with 60 women in the Mama and the Naath Business Groups and heard each tell of her business enterprise, using the loan we gave from Canadian donations! It is very touching to say the least! One is making delicious bread. So thank-you . . . and may God heal you as you remember together, tell stories and draw together. I know that Uncle Henry's and Aunt Rita's spirit lives on and burns brightly in you. How I would love to join you. Love and peace,

I had the pleasure of speaking with Rita at the wedding last summer, and visiting her when she was at Beechwood Manor previously. I had met her through Rick & Pat originally. I always appreciated the lovely dresses and items that Rita sewed for Caitlin & Mallory and was the recipient of a prayer shawl from Rita myself. She always greeted me with a delightful smile and radiated a gentle and thoughtful heart. I'm sure that Rita will be missed by all who have known her, but she has left a legacy of faith, caring & energized, purposeful living. May your loss be filled with happy memories and respect for this lovely woman who made a difference in our world.
