Obituary of Rick Gaudet

Passed away at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

Rick lived his life with kindness, generosity, selflessness and love.  His greatest pride was his family and his everyday was dedicated to them.  In May of 2018, Rick started his ultimate battle with cancer.  Rick’s determination, fight and positivity led him through an incredible fight.  On Tuesday, afternoon at 2:45 p.m. embraced by his entire family, his struggle ended but his legacy remains strong.

Rick was a loving husband to Chris (nee Bender).  Dear father of Allison, Geoff and his wife Steph and Angie and her husband Jeff Melchin.  Survived by his mother Patricia Gaudet, brother Stephen Gaudet (Bonnie) and sisters Val Dietrich (Henry), and Lisa Gaudet.  Special grandfather of Peyton, Lexi, Connor, Leah and Scarlett.  Remembered by inlaws, Kathy and Brian Dietrich, Bernice Bender and Chuck and Liz Bender.  He will be missed by many nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.

Predeceased by his father Camille, brother in-law Doug Bender and sister in-law Mary Ann and her husband Don Quehl.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Rick with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, March 15, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church, 131 Flax Mill Drive, Conestogo, Ontario. Reception to follow the service in the church hall. Interment at a later date.
