Cancer is a horrific disease. And loss of a loved one causes a grief that no words can describe. I am so sad and so sorry that this has happened in our/your family. I go about my busy life in my own little world and then something like this, from a distance, reaches out and touches me. And the memories come surging back ... countless memories, for me, of childhood and family members and places and times and occasions. I most recently saw Butch and Annette at Sherrie's funeral. We were at the graveside and I was standing alone, and Butch reached out to me and said 'Come stand with Annette and me" ... that really touched my heart, so thoughtful and considerate. Tears are welling up as I write it. My heart is with you all today. I wish you peace.

I still saw, in the eyes of Butch as an adult, that wonderful light that we all knew in our youth. He was a respected leader and teacher. He took me for my one and only motorcycle ride. So many wonderful memories of Operation Blackfly and adventures as Air Cadets...822 Tutor Squadron.
