Obituary of Anne Lutz
LUTZ, Anne.
October 28, 1933 – May 25, 2019
Anne Lutz, wife of the late Fred Lutz passed away peacefully at the age of 85 years, at her home. Survived by her sons Harry (Denise Rhoades) and Robert (Donna); and daughter Dianne (Robert Howard). Predeceased by her daughter Mary Margaret and her son Steven. Also survived by her only sister Katharine Horn. Loving Oma to Amanda, Steven, Adam and Erin.
Anne immigrated to Canada just before her 17th birthday with her father and sister. She very briefly lived in Biggar, Sask. before settling in Kitchener-Waterloo. Here as a teenager, she survived tuberculosis and then she met the love of her life, Fred, whom she would marry in 1955. She would work in Waterloo where Marsland and Columbia intersect until 1959 when she became a mother. In her younger years, her favourite past time was going shopping but purchasing very little. She fulfilled her dream of visiting the Holy Land and the Vatican. In her later years, she became quite fond of sunny south trips, especially Cuba. She was a member of the Schwaben Club and was very active with her Parish of St. Michael’s, including membership within the Catholic Women’s League.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 9:30am – 10:30am followed by procession to St. Michael Parish, 80 University Avenue (at Hemlock), Waterloo for the Funeral Mass at 11am with Father Frank Freitas as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. Following the interment, a reception will be held at the Schwaben Club, 1668 King St. E., Kitchener.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Right At Home caregivers for all the love and care they gave Anne while she was at home.
