Obituary of Beverly Grace Brookes

Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Lanark Heights Long Term Care, Kitchener at the age of 81 years. Predeceased by her devoted husband Ted. Beloved mother of Janice (Douglas), Jennifer, Richard (Diana), and Lesley (Matthew). Loving grandmother to Adam, William and Georgia. Loyal friend to many.

Beverly was born and raised in Toronto, graduated from Bishop Strachan School, and moved to the small town of Baden in 1966 where she immediately fell in love with the open space. After raising four children she worked at the University of Waterloo for a program dedicated to elder care. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher and a keen reader. She devoted many hours to volunteerism including for the Arthritis and Heart and Stroke Foundations, Beavers and literacy programs. She was a founding member of a cooperative daycare centre and the Black Walnut Ballet. She was actively involved with Probus.

Family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Lanark Heights Long Term Care for the loving care provided to Beverly and their appreciation for her dry wit.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Beverley with her family during a Memorial Reception at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 6 – 8 p.m.
