Passed away peacefully at The Village of University Gates, Waterloo on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the age of 100 years.
Survived by Linda Margaret Vande Kolk, daughter (and Dan Vande Kolk), Jason Birkl, grandson (and partner Lena Bratsiankova), Kelly Kinderman, granddaughter (and husband Nathan), Rita Ruocco, sister, Henry Ruocco, brother, David Rogers, nephew and Claire Ruocco, niece.
Predeceased by James Michael Guyon (Brody), husband, Alfonso Ruocco, father, Elizabeth Ruocco, mother, her step-mother, eleven siblings and Eric Ruocco, nephew.
Rose (fondly known as Rosie) was born in London, England and worked for many years in her family owned restaurant, “Ruocco’s”. She married her husband, Jim, of 49 years in 1941 and gave birth to their only child, Linda, in 1946. She and Jim left the comforts of home and family and moved to Canada in 1966 to join Linda and her fiance, Fred. Over the years, Rose and Jim lived in a variety of areas throughout Ontario and made many lasting friendships along the way. Our hope is that Rosie has reunited with those gone before her; especially, the love of her life, Brody.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Rosina with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 12 – 12:45 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
