Obituary of Leon Douglas Ribey

After a courageous battle with cancer, Leon Douglas Ribey of Waterloo passed away peacefully at Innisfree House, Kitchener on June 30, 2019 in his 75^th year.

 Loving husband of 53 years to Judy (Fawcett). Adored by children Glenda and Andrew Rozomiak, Sandra and Jeff Faught and Doug and Christa Ribey. Special Grandpa to Amelia, Thomas and Sara Rozomiak and Paige and Quinn Ribey. Survived by his sister Joyce and Ray Klem, brother-in-law Andy Siegrist, sister-in-law Linda Ribey and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents Thomas and Florence Ribey, sister Patricia and Clayt Reist, sister Adelle Siegrist  and brother Bevin.

Leon grew up in Bruce Township and moved to KW in 1964. Leon was a longtime member of the New Hamburg Hunt Club. He was also part of the KW Cribbage League, Merryhill Men's Golf League and in earlier years, the Elmira Curling Club. Leon enjoyed his weekly Breakfast Club, a round of cards and time spent with his many friends.

The family would like to thank everyone who has supported us over these difficult months. We would also like to thank the compassionate staff of Innisfree House.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Leon with his family during memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue, on Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. with the service at 12 Noon in the chapel of the funeral home. Reception to follow.  Interment will be held at a later date.
